I will be visiting Nola for the first time ever, accompanied by a motley multigenerational crew of family (grandparents down to an 8 year old). We are all WAY into food, even the kid, and will be eating out a bunch (questions on this in a later post). However, also looking for good food to pick up and take in for dinners back at the house we are renting in the Garden District. Given long days, group size and age range may want to just come home, make a salad and chill some nights.
Recs for places to pick up togo or places to get great ingrediants to do easy cooking at the house? We will have a car and will be out and about sightseeing during the days so can source from whereever. Like all food but especially interested in seafood, local stuff not going to get in the northwest (cajun, bbq, fried chicken even) and just good grub. The kind of places you go when you think, "i just don't feel like cooking tonight, let's bring something in".
