I'm looking to get a cookbook for a friend, who is really interested in learning Chinese cooking, but wants to start with the basics to understand techniques before she gets into the more complex stuff. She wants to learn basic stir fry techniques, noodle dishes, veggie dishes, etc. I have "The Food of China" which I love, as many of the recipes are really similar to what my mom made as I was growing up. But I think it may be a bit overwhelming for my friend to start. Any recommendations?
