My lovely bride-to-be and I are getting married at the beginning of September 2015, and are looking for a baker that can make a wedding cake that has no fondant on it, as we both find fondant to be absolutely disgusting. We have noticed that many bakers use fondant as the icing for their wedding cakes, and the number of bakers willing to use just buttercream seems very limited.
Now, we are aware that Dufflet Pastries makes fondant-free wedding cakes, but as we live and are getting hitched at the west end of the GTA, we would prefer somewhere within the Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton area. Our other criteria is that due to food allergies, vegan and gluten-free bakeries are out. Keep it old-school!
