ISO Dim Sum For One

sel | Mar 5, 2006 01:23 AM

Thanks to J. Gold and Chowhound (especially Jerome's posts) along with the assistance of a car with a GPS I've enjoyed many wonderful meals at SGV Chinese restaurants during the past 4 years! Thanks to you all!

The only type of place I've avoided are the dim sum/seafood places that are written about so often on this board. GF and my kids are not interested in exploring this type of cusine with me and it seems from what I've read that these places are best enjoyed with a group of people, family or friends. I would like to try dim sum in a restaurant, both carts and menu. But it will be just me. I am not really familliar with this cusine, the only dim sum that I've had was from Chinese bakeries, usually devoured at a nearby park bench!

So Chowhounds, where should I go, as a solo dim sum diner (that doesn't speak Cantonese) in the SGV or LA Chinatown for good to great but at this time reasonable price dim sum? TIA!!!
