Isle of Wight -- Not too fancy, but good

We're going back to Seaview and Bembridge on the Isle of Wight this summer to replay childhood holidays.
The last time I went there, the island was as nice as ever, but the food was unbelievably awful: a "home made" steak and kidney pie that was still frozen in the middle (at least they took the wrapper off before they microwaved it) and a ham sandweich that had enough ham only if you put it all on one quarter of the sandwich. The margarine didn't add to the experience either.
where can I get decent, not too exotic or fancy food in the Seaview-Shanklin-Bembridge-Ventnor area? I'm going with my sister, cousin, and(vegetarian)13 year old daughter.
Will be grateful for any and all suggestions, preferably reachable by Vectorbus or brief taxi ride.
