After staying away for more than a decade, this week I was back at Giorgio's for lunch. ( http://www.chowhound.com/post/mangia-... ) And I managed to remember that the pizza to try is the Ischian-style with the thinner crust and lighter toppings. ( http://www.chowhound.com/post/pizza-r... )
We ordered a medium-size pizza with the Giorgio's Special toppings --- Pepperoni, salami, mushroom, sausage. As promised, the extra thin crust was crisp but not cracker-like, still offering up a satisfying chewy bite. Eminently foldable, the pizza was baked dark enough for my taste without having to make a special request. More importantly, it's a tasty pie and we polished it off.
The salad was quite forgettable though the zesty herb vinaigrette served on the side was pleasant. Canneloni were okay, made in a very hearty style. The thickish egg pasta encased a rather plain, mostly ground beef filling. No besciamella, this was blanketed generously with a heavy marinara and melted cheese.
And in case anyone should need this, Giorgio's has a separate ADA, wheelchair-accessible restroom.
