Based on a couple of other recs, including one from rudmansjmu in another thread, Courtney and I walked over to his Little Italy deli today. This is a really good place with a limited menu -- a few salads, brick oven pizza and sandwiches. Our eyes were a bit bigger than our stomachs after the walk, so we ordered a white pizza with ricotta, fresh mozzarella, feta, garlic and herbs, along with a sub of italian meats, gouda, roasted peppers and balsamic dressing.

The pizza was very good -- thin, slightly charred crust topped with garlicky cheesey goodness. It's in my top five area pies. The sandwich was spectacular -- one of the best Italian sandwiches I've had in my admittedly limited experience.

It's on High street about a block south of Pratt on the corner. Well worth the walk -- not that we didn't need it after the amount of food we consumed.

Amazingly we managed to stroll over to Piedagrotta's for gelato after the lunch.

And as an aside, we walked home through the Inner Harbor. The bad news is that it was filled with Yankees fans. The good news is that quite a large number of them were eating at Phillips.
