Just thought I'd post a note here as I did a search and had no hits for Irazu. This place is a delightful little (and I mean *little*) Costa Rican place on Milwaukee near the Western/Armitage intersection. I'd heard about it so my husband and I tried it on a whim last Tuesday. It was great! The server (whom I believe is the owner/owner's daughter) gave us spot-on suggestions. I had a blackberry shake made with milk and the marinated skirt steak. The steak was very flavorful and cooked perfectly medium, as I'd ordered it. It was served with fried plantains (delicious!) and rice w/black beans. Husband had Chicharron--fried pork skin still attached to the meat. As the server said, "You eat this only once or twice a year or you'll have a heart attack." It was also excellent and served with fried yucca with garlic. Oh, I forgot to mention that the shake was so wonderful--simple, yet perfect. The prices are very reasonable--about $10 an entree--and the portions are generous. I hear the pepito sandwich is great too. Guess I'll have to go back to try it. Enjoy!
