The Governor signed a bill today that gets the state out of the beer business.
Breweries no longer have to sell beers over 5% ABV to the state for distribution.
The state used to consider 5% abv beers liquor, which is still state distributed. They mark it up 25 % , and then store and distribute it very poorly. They also like to wait long periods of time to pay for it.
No more. It should greatly improve the selection of good craft beers in Iowa.
A bet for the Surly Brewery in Minnesota.
Hawkeyes Beat the Gophers next fall in football, you have to ship Furious to Des Moines.
Gophers win and, ummmm, well, ummm, I'll keep driving up there to get it?
