Interesting discovery at Daniele's Piadina

First of all, I think this little place on 22nd and 6th is lovely for lunch - the flatbreads are just enough to fill me up without stuffing me. My only quibble is that they put their stracchino cheese on almost all of their sandwiches, and I'm not crazy about it - it's too cream-cheesy for me.

So today I asked them to substitute mozzarella for the stracchino on the No. 6 (the one with bresaola.) No problem! It was done. I then looked at the receipt. Apparently they had subtracted 1.25 for the no-stracchino, then added 2.50 for the mozz! So they have some kind of secret add-your-own system. I think they would probably make a custom piadina if you asked. I was delighted with this discovery and did not mind paying a bit more for the mozz. Also, their unsweetened hibiscus tea is tart and DELISH. Now they just need to start making salads and I will be there three times a week.
