A insider review of ALEX and tipping

Ok so im in the industry, and im very very critical..... Unlike you "foodies" ive worked this field for 14 years behind the stoves. my review of Alex is mixed.......... hhmmmmm lets see my bill was 35 per person.... without wine or tax and tip. the first course was great, a beautiful oyster with caviar and a wonderful touch of lemon, the following course was lack luster. bland halibut over a bit of salad composed of peppers, red endive, white sardines, and spanish Jamon...... the beef cheeks over polenta was wonderful, extremely tender with a nice reduction sauce/\\

the pros are:
not bad food for 35 per person, was i hungry when i left... no... did i want more yes! did the protions bother me,,,,, not really.... but with such small portions.... id want the few bites i do have to explode of my mouth. examples are

the yellowfin app at spagos
the seared tuna at the beach house... josies old place]
the goat cheese dish from Remi
the dumplings with cilantro from Yu jean kangs
