Restaurants & Bars 4

Influence of Chowhound

I've been posting here irregularly since last year, and when picking a new restaurant this is always my first stop. I found the board when planning a trip to a restaurant and searching on Google for a phone number and address. I bookmarked it and have come here directly since then.

When posting my response to the Black Olive thread below, however, I searched for "Black Olive Baltimore" in Google, and found my earlier and partially negative review listed above both the restaurant's web site and Baltimore Magazine's "Best Restaurants of 2001."

I wonder how many restaurant owners are aware of this board, and just how influential it can be on a restaurant's business. I'm certainly more willing to take the advice of the Chowhounds over that of either Baltimore Magazine or City Paper. Both have steered me wrong in the past, but the Chowhounds never have.
