Any inexpensive places to eat that are as good as Queens spots?

I rarely go to Manhattan anymore, and am so out of touch as to what is good there anymore, or affordable....In queens we just have so many great places, and my next stop is checking out the places in Brooklyn...---what places are there these days in Manhattan worth traveling in for, I've got a car, but need to have street parking available, and need an inexpensive place, that is always preferably toddler friendly, as the kid comes along, and is generally well behaved.

Any cuisines, except Japanese. And dessert places, too would be good, although we've got Cannelle in Jackson Heights, which blows away most of what I've had in Manhattan and for half the price. We used to come in for Banjara for Indian, but the last time we were there, it kinda sucked, and the portions shrunk, too. I've made a note of the falafel place on Waverly, I think...? This seems to get good reviews, but it seems to be for only takeout, which is okay, if we're in the car somewhere.

A good Indian place would be nice,--------don't think any Chinese (especially Szechuan) in Manhattan compares to what we have in Flushing, though. And forget Thai, we go to Srip weekly in Woodside for many years, and we've never had better anywhere else. We go to Ali Baba (Turkish) on 34th, and it's pretty good, and their lunch special is a decent value.

Please convince me of some cool places to eat at, so I'll have an excuse to come to the city. Cleanliness of restaurant matters to me, as well .Thank you!
