Inexpensive International Supermarket in NYC?

Nicole | Jul 10, 2005 09:34 PM

I am currently in chow-exile in northern Colorado. On regular visits back to NYC I travel to the farthest reaches of each borough to collect bottled and boxed ingredients to bring back with me - ex. Asian Market on Mulberry, Mexican mega-Grocers in Williamsburg. Many of the specialty products I like are not available in Fort Collins or they are 3 or 4 times as expensive.

Unfortunately, on my way back to Colorado from Tucson this summer, I don't have the luxury of time to do this, as I am only stopping in NYC for a couple of busy days, and i don't drive. I am hoping someone knows of an inexpensive international supermarket, which carries Asian, Italian, Middle Eastern, and whatever, etc.. kinds of ingredients under one roof, and is easy to get to. Inexpensive and varied products are key in this desperate search.

Thanks to anyone who has a lead.
