Inexpensive Afghan place on 46th St.

I'm sure everyone must know about this place, the Afghan Kebab House on 46th near Times Square. After snagging 1/2 price tickets for Metamorphoses (TERRIFIC SHOW!!!) at the TKTS booth on Sunday we ducked in there for lunch. It was great! The palau (a briyani of rice, lamb, pine nuts, ornage peel and raisins) was wonderful and the fried pumpkin turnovers were absloutely delicious. I could have eaten a whole plate of them!!!!! The perfect drink to go with it is the Afghan spiced tea. There's no tea in it, just different spices including cardamom and fennel and some sweet spices. I asked what was in it but the waitress didn't know. But skip the baklava. It was a huge disappointment, premade, soggy, and tasted like the fridge. Everything else was very nice though, including the service, which couldn't ahve been more attentive. Oh yeah and check out the "harem" room in the back!!!
