Had a really great meal at Indus Village the other night, better than previous visits.
Indus nihaari: beef shank braised until it was falling to strings (like Cuban ropa vieja) in a thick sauce. Fabulous. I'm glad they were out of mutton or we might never have tried this.
Goat karahii: goat was a little dry, very good sauce but outshown by the beef.
Tandoori catfish: simple but very good. Nice earthy flavor for farmed catfish. Nice contrast to the rich dishes.
Baingan bharta (eggplant): best version of this I've had. Exquisitely spiced. Very rich.
Okra masaala: a lighter version of this dish, no sauce, somewhat tart. Again, nice contrast--only dish from which we had no leftovers.
Naan were OK, not great, one was a little dry. Rice pilaf was fine.
