i dont search far and wide for indian food (living near lafayette and georgetown, it seems i neednt) so bear that in mind when i say that the best samosas ive had anywhere are available at India Chaat House just nw of lafayette sq. mall. they are also the hottest food ive enjoyed lately, and i prepare food at the end of summer, when all my pepper plants are producing, with all manner of tropical peppers appearing in inappropriate and unsuitable places. these samosas have little peices of hot chiles in them. the ingredients are obviously hand prepared (not having been in an indian restaurant's kitchen, i dont know how many shortcuts are typically used, but it seems clear that none is used here.) the family which runs the restaurant are also among the most gracious and generous people i have encountered who do so. they treat you like guests in their clean linoleum floored florescent lit home.. it seems that if you order one thing, they bring you a taste of everything else.
