New Indian Vege. Restaurant in Fairfax

naruda | Jun 19, 2006 04:08 PM

A new Indian Rest. opened last week: Saravana Palace in Fairfax.

it is vegetarian and has very exhaustive menu longer than UDUPI and WOODLANDS combined. Like UDUPI and WOODLANDS , SARAVANA PALACE has taken the name from a very popular restaurant in Chennai. They have a web page: www.saravanapalaceva.com

The menu also lists Indo-chinese dishes and also some dishes that do not conatain onion and garlic. Jains in India, a subsect of Hinduism do not eat any garlic and onions. They do not scratch their heads for the fear they might kill a louse. They walk with their mouths covered by a piece of cloth. Do not want any fly to get killed by entering their mouths.

It is in the same price range as others and has a buffet daily at lunch for $ 6.95

Directions are on their webpage.
