New Indian Restaurant - Bombay Express

Mr Bean Counter | Jan 5, 2002 02:50 PM

I found a new fast food Indian restaurant today in Lombard, IL called Bombay Express. The address is 1271 S Main St; Lombard, IL 60148. Their phone number is 630-599-1605.

I do not have enough experience with Indian food to offer much critique, but I enjoyed it and plan to go back.

I had the lamb kabab meal. The lamb was marinated and very richly seasoned. The heat is what I consider to be mild to medium.

The lamb was served on top of a generous portion of rice. A side of cucumber and tomato salad, naan bread, and a large soft drink was also included. The price was $6.29.

I liked everything so much I ordered the middle eastern platter to go, but I haven't tried it yet. For $5.29 you get a good sized cup each of hummus, babaganouj, and tabouleh, and 1 piece of naan. I think that whole thing weighed at least a pound. Can't wait to try it.

We are fairly new to the area, and are originally from Columbus, OH. We were just starting to get into Indian food and enjoying it, when a new job opportunity came up. This is the second Indian restaurant I have tried since coming here.
