Indian food in Glasgow - critique and request for suggestions

I'm going home (to Glasgow from NY)for a couple of weeks in June and was wondering where the best Indian restaurants are now located.
It is a couple of years since I went out in the city center but I must confess to being a bit disappointed at the way some Indian food now seems to be prepared in Scotland (and in Newcastle - this last June).
I sometimes get the impression that meats and chicken are prepared in large quantities with minimal spices and marinades - only to be added to the sauce at the time of ordering. This results in the meat/chicken being quite tasteless. Often the sauce is very good - but that is not the point.
I had this problem at Creme de la Creme, Cafe India and Mother India in Glasgow (2-3 years back)
and at Latif's in downtown Newcastle.
Incredibly I have been finding better curries in New York than in my home town of Glasgow recently.
Any suggestions for a good curry in the dear green place?
