New Indian in Charlotte

Last night I made my first of many visits to Situl in Park Road Shopping Center. What a welcome addition!
My companion and I shared Chicken Tikka Masala and Aloo Palak.
Their dinners are started with pappadum and onion chutney-spicy and delicious.
The chicken (which is not only a favorite but my benchmark to gauge the quality of food) was outstanding-the best I have had in Charlotte. They even used almonds and raisins in the sauce. I find most restaurants skip this authentic touch to cut corners. The vegetable dish was a new one for me. The spinach and potatoes had a wonderful fresh flavor. We also had nan and raita with our meal.
The atmosphere is frankly not much, but the food is fresh, flavorful, and authentic. (Certainly not greasy like some of the other Indian restaurants in town.)Total cost with tip $30.
There was a decent crowd at 7:00 on a Saturday: no line but most tables were full. Service was satisfactory. They do have a lunch buffet, which I intend to try as well.
