Indian (brownstone Brooklyn)

I have thrown this lure into the water before, and never have gotten any bites. I am looking for good Indian in the Brooklyn heights/Cobble Hill/Boreum Hill/Redhook/Williamsburg/Park Slope/Greenpoint area (sorry for those I have left out, I am no Realtor). I used to go to the small dive at the intersection of Atlantic and Court, good and filling but not great. For a brief period when it first opened Amin was great. Now its just schizo, swerving between awful and odd. Smith streets own private hippness seems to exclude the near east. Julie Sahni living in the heights makes it all the more frustrating; shouldn't there be some acolytes? Doestnt talent behave like gravity? I hope I am just blind, and there is a Pakistani tea house in Boreum Hill, a Tabla in Dumbo and a Star of India on Smith Street. Some help please.
