Had a very enjoyable lunch of fine Northern Indian Cuisine at this former ' Amaya ' location on Bayview just south of Eglington.
Rarely do I come across an Indian restaurant that offered dishes with such multi-dimensional and complex taste profile. So glad the sauces were all very distinct and individual and NOT a modification of some bland, one-dimensional ' mother sauce '.
The Deluxe Meat Thali I ordered, with two appetizers, three vegetables ( Lentils, Okra & Potatoes, Saag Paneer ) and a meat curry ( lamb ) to go with the rice. pappadum and smokey piping hot Nan, has more than enough food to feed a very hungry adult!
My stand out dish was an additional side of Prawn curry which used giant and crunchy Tiger prawns and smothered in a citrus y and creamy, oh-so-delicious sauce!
Service was very friendly and efficient.
Decor and ambiance was cozy and comfortable.
PS: A bonus, after lunch treat was a visit to nearby Cumbrae to take a browse at their ever impressive display of dry-aged Prime Beef plus a super-creamy gelato from Hollywood Gelato!
