India Palace - Soho - longish vent

Michele Cindy | Sep 25, 2003 01:46 PM

There aren't many great Indian places nearby in my work area (Soho), I decided to give "India Palace" a try. The restaurant is on Lafayette. It recently changed hands. The place is always empty, but I thought I would give it a try anyway. I walked in, there was one customer, I sat at a 4 top, near the back of the place. The host came up to me and said, "You have to sit here" and was trying to seat me in a hidden corner table next to a wall, facing a wall. I said I didn't want to sit there, the restaurant is empty, I'd gladly move should you have the need for my table. He said "I'm sorry then if you do not like this table leave." I gladly left, went around the corner to Thai Angel on Grand St. (Food was good for lunch, cheap, & spicy as requested.), the staff was friendly. On the way back to my office, I looked in the Indian place, and it was still empty. I just had to get this off my chest...
