Incanto's Sicilian Dinner

EVO | Jun 3, 2004 10:38 PM

Just for fun, here is the menu from Incanto’s lasts Monday night Sicilian Mattanza Dinner. The Manttanza is the Sicilian festival celebrating the tuna catch, and the entire fixed menu was built on tuna. Each course was excellently paired with a Sicilian wine by the skilled sommelier, Claudio.

* Antipasta of due tonni: tuna crudo with local capers and air-dried tuna mosciiame fith fennel salad
* Spaghetti alla chitarra with tuna conserva, tuna bottarga, hot pepper and lemon
* Tonnarotti-style tuna braised in nero d’avola
Black Cherry babà al rhum with lemon crème fraîche

This was a stunning meal! The progression from the delicate and refined antipasta, through the homemade pasta, to the braised tuna with a big an powerful sauce was a triumph.

This was a one of a series of special meals that the restaurant has organized on “down” Monday nights – Memorial Day being a real downer! It worked. The place was full and the customers were treated to Chef Chris Cosinitions innovative and delicious menu. We were glad we signed-up. Recommend getting on their email mail list to find out about these special menus.
