Incanto.....bad experience

Jerry | Nov 6, 2005 11:25 PM

I read on this site about how wonderful Incanto is. Then I saw it reviewed on Check Please....on PBS. I could not wait to go there. Well I went tonight and I can honestly say it was terrible. One of the worst meals I have ever had in the City. I have had better meals at school cafeterias. My date and I started off with the Prosciutto and I believe Persimmons. The persimmons were not ripe enough to serve and the ham was poorly presented. Next we moved on to the main dishes....pasta with pork ragout....flat, no depth, actually no flavor....something was really missing. We also had the Lamb....another bad dish. The lamb was so undercooked that I could have sworn I saw it move on its own. It also lacked flavor and mashed potatoes that came with it had way too much cream. Dessert was the peach crumble.....iiiich! The pears were not even close to being ripe and they were too hard to eat. This dessert should be served warm to slightly hot and it was room temperature at best. The best part of the meal was the homemade bread...sad to say. I have eaten at some of the finest restaurants in the world and hundreds in SF....and this can honestly say was crap! I dont think I will be back. My date felt the same way I did.
