Restaurant Week Menu had 3 choices for apps, 4 choices for entrees and only 1 selection for dessert.
Spicy tuna tartar topped with chopped scallions and pieces of celery surrounding the plate and dollops of hot sauce around the perimeter of the plate (good, nothing extraordinary, hot sauce on the side which I appreciated since I am not a fan of spicy)
Shrimp and avocado with mesclun greens
Steamed asparagus goma (we did not order this)
Sushi (8 pieces of sushi: eel, 2 tuna, salmon, fluke, yellowtail, shrimp and eel and a California roll)
Layered pieces of eel over rice. Steamed asparagus on top of buttery slivers of shitaki mushrooms atop eel, then bamboo shoots atop another layer of eel and then a little sautéed spinach atop a 3rd layer of eel. (This dish I liked a lot, but my only complaint was that the rice was drenched with the sweet eel sauce and made it too sweet for me to eat much of it)
Shrimp and vegetable tempura
Chicken teriyaki (we did not order this)
Tofu flan with a dried apricot and fresh mint on top surrounded by a dollop of strawberry puree, kiwi puree and one other that I dont remember (interesting texture)
Presentation of food was good, especially the eel which was my favorite of the 3 entrees that we ordered. The other 2 entrees and the appetizers were very ordinary and nothing special. My friends said their apps and entrees were good and I did not taste. Service was very good; tea was constantly refilled, attentive and unobtrusive.
