I have not been, and probably won't given what I've read, but I've been pretty surprised by the overall negative response to a certain Thai noodle shop's recent opening. In this particular case, I think our abundance of excellent Thai food and certain Yelpers' nativist attitudes make it particularly difficult for an outsider to live up to the hype (so much so that some have taken to writing lengthy defenses on their behalf). Still, I'm trying to think of a time an opening this highly anticipated was received so poorly, or at least controversially. Can any of you? Not trying to be mean spirited here, I've just been thinking about this for a while and am drawing a blank.
