Just in from din-din. Dessert was a wild strawberry tart, served with TRUFFLE ICE CREAM! Tart was good enough- - -but the ice cream, don't ask! Simply astounding. The ice cream was creamy (I know how to make creamy ice cream). The ice cream had a vanilla lilt (I know how to vanilla-ize my ice cream batter). But the intoxicating flavor of white truffle was mind blowing. I would love to know if any hounds have ever attempted a white truffle infused ice cream, and if so, please share the technique with me. My first impulse was to simply add about a tablespoon of white truffle oil to a standard quart sized batch of vanilla ice cream batter. But maybe this would be overkill.
