I made a recent visit to Il Sogno for the first time in a couple of years for dinner and I was very impressed. Firstly, they have done some nice cosmetic renovations that add to the comfort and cozyness of the place. The service was friendly and professional which is a pleasant change of pace in our fair city.
As for the food, we left the choices in the very capable hands of new chef Alain Chabot and we were not disappointed. Instead of a full blown tasting menu we were treated to a four course meal and it was outstanding. It consisted of a tasty Amuse Bouche, a delicious seafood soup, sublime game meat ravioli, perfectly cooked and seasoned rack of lamb and a nice dessert. Although we didn't do wine pairings we did try one of their Amarones and it was very good.
At the end of the day, I would happily add it to our growing list of very good high-end restaurants.
