There is no shortage of good italian in Huntington.
But here's one that is yet undiscovered and very good.
Il Panino, 400 NY Ave., just south of town.
We've been twice in the last month and were very satisfied.
They use Niman ranch pork. Local fresh organic veggies where possible. Very nice atmosphere and not too dark.
No liquor license yet, but they have plenty of wine and are very knowledgeable. I've had the Montepulciano 2002 by the glass.
My starter was a light mixed beet salad with goat cheese. It wasn't so much as to kill my appetite for....
a large chunk of rosemary seared Blue Fin in a multi colored pepper sauce. Cooked perfectly and delicious.
My wife had a nice portion of pumpkin gnocchi, which she devoured.
Dessert was, sounds weird, but...
peanut butter and jelly panna cotta.
And of course excellent cap.
cooler temps is a good time for Italian.
