We went to Il Grano last night for the Dine Out dinner. It is the first time I have been back since the remodel. It looks much smaller and not as warm as before. It seems that all of the servers have also been replaced. Our server was excellent. I ordered a glass of a Super Tuscan wine that was amazing. You can also order 1/2 glasses if you want. Amuse of Bruscetta with chef Sal's homegrown tomatoes. We got one of each first course option. Excellent Grilled Calamari and Octopus salad and also the Crudo of Yellow Tail and Blue Fin Tuna in a melon sauce with fresh figs. WOW. We both got the Fillet Mignon with Port Gorganzola sauce and mashed potato. Absolutely amazing. This dish alone is worth the price of the entire meal. We got one Gelato dessert and one Chocolate Souffle. Gelato was good, one arrived melted, one was icy and one was good texture but little flavor (I think Peach). Souffle was made with excellent chocolate and moist. More of a lava cake but such deep intense chocolate flavor. Best dessert ever at Il Grano. Check was $95.00 before very generous tip. Sorry to report this after the end of the Dine Out program but I would go again for that Fillet and feel I got a bargain even at $35.00 a la carte. Tasting Menu is still a deal at 5 courses for $55.00. We will return soon.
