This place (9461 Little Santa Monica Blvd., Beverly Hills, (310) 285-2045), has, hands down, the best pistachio gelato I have ever tasted. In fact, three or four years ago, Saveur Magazine had a list of their 100 top food products, one of which was a fancy pants organic Sicilian pistachio butter which cost like $15 for a six ounce jar but which was, really, really amazingly intensely pistachio and delicious. Well Il Cono's pistachio gelato tastes like that pistachio butter, but sweeter and frozen. Maybe the best frozen dessert I've ever tasted (excepting the Missus's homemade Tahitian vanilla ice cream, of course). Absolutely phenomenal.
Also very good, they have a nice selection of fruit sorbets that are really intense. The blood orange, pink grapefruit, and the lychee (which are the ones I tried) are excellent.
Am I the last person to discover this place? (And in the middle of BH too; sort of makes up for Crazy Fish!)
