Il Buco or Cobras and Matadors?

Pat | Dec 10, 2004 07:05 PM

Am getting together with my friend tomorrow night for an early diner (i.e., 5:30/6ish). She thought AOC was a little pricey, so I thought of a couple of other places I've never tried that have gotten good recs on this board in the past. Il Buco I have seen very little about here but what I have seen has been good. I know it's owned by a younger Drago bro. Cobras and Matadors seems not to get such raves lately but since I've never been and we're going early enough to avoid the crowd, am leaning toward since I really like little plates.... Or alternative ideas in the La Cienega/Olympic (Carthay Circle) vicinity--say around $25 with tip pp? (We are 50-somethings, and not into trendy scenes--altho we are certainly not geriatric types. We do want someplace where we can hear each other talk, let's say.)

Thanks folks!
