First, please respond to my email with any questions or interest instead of here, thanks!

Due to an earlier discussion re: romantic, Italian restaurants, it seems there is some interest in doing an Il Borgo Chowdown. So...

Il Borgo is a small, neighborhood Italian gem located at Fell and Laguna (Hayes Valley.) It's inexpensive and delicious. The Menupage.com's menu is but a limited view of what they offer plus the prices are slightly higher at the restaurant. Il Borgo has a "specials" menu that is twice as long. Excellent fresh pastas (big portions) and house-made bread.

The decor is old school Italian with candles in Chianti bottles, red checked tableclothes, and murals on the wall. A little cheesey but I love it. It is family run and if things get busy, service can be a little strained. When it's slower, it's like you are dining w/ family.

It ain't no Oliveto's or Incanto, people. Perhaps not a destination place (although I'd cross town for it) but maybe chowhounders in the area have an interest? I passed by this place for years wondering if it was any good before I stepped foot in the place. Maybe you've been doing the same.

Date will be determined by the most commonly convenient to all. Price TBD when I figure out how many want to go and I speak to the chef.

Happy Eating!
Lisa
