il bico at kenmore sq on comm ave. is undeservingly empty on a sunday night. the food is good, extremely reasonably priced, and abundant. handcut, freshly made pappardelle with lavish quantities of ragu (deep, rich flavour, lots of fresh basil, porcini mushrooms) in enormous portions for only $13. tortellini quattro formaggi with pear and prosciutto was also excellent, creamy but light, and with a distinct sweetness and fragrance of pear ($15).
also try the bichi, after which the restaurant is named. $7 buys you a roll of crisp flatbread, filled with such delights as garlic sauteed mushrooms and spinach.
