Need Ideas- SF in December

Hey chowhounds! I've already searched this site a lot, but still looking for a few more ideas and solid recommendations. We'll be in San Francisco for a week in December. Staying in Lower Pacific Heights (I think) at Sutter and Gough. We're seeing The Black Crowes most of those nights at The Fillmore, so we need ideas for early dining that is a short Muni or cab ride from that area. I'm thinking Hayes Valley and the Castro would be about the right distance, but we'd go farther or in another direction for something really worthwhile.

We often like to have several appetizers and a few cocktails for dinner, so early bird dinners and happy hours will work. We like having dinner at the bar, too, so we get in and out faster. We like seafood, French bistro food, casual Italian, Mediteranean and Latin. Probably will not do Thai or Indian, might do Japanese as long as they have some beef or chicken or cooked fish, since my partner does not eat sushi.

We like classic or specialty cocktails when they are crafted with care and quality ingredients, so also seeking ideas for good lounges or bars near the Fillmore. We really liked the dark basement at La Trappe last year, but that might be a bit far from our hotel this year. Also disappointed that Jeanty at Jack's is gone, craving that tomato soup and his ribeye with bernaise! Any ideas for replacements?

How about good bakeries with croissants for breakfast?

Already on our list of possibilities are:
1300 on Fillmore
Bistro Central Parc
Bruno's Pizzeria
Alamo Square Seafood Grill
Woodhouse Fish Co
Chow (Castro)

thanks for your time!
