Ideas for chestnut puree or nut meats?

Once in a while I like to buy something from the market that I've never used before nor have any recipe in mind for what to do w/ it. This past weekend it was a jar of plump whole chestnut meats--ready to use. Also grabbed a tin of chestnut puree.

Have some general ideas for using them in stuffing, ravioli, sauces, desserts, but was wondering if anyone has any tried-and-true recipes or can provide any general concepts from a unique restaurant dish?? The more unusual, the better.

Thanks for helping me expand my culinary repertoire...
