Wow! Just back from a phenomenal meal at Salt (225 Ossington @ Dundas). Service is friendly and just attentive enough. Started with a nice glass of cava alongside serrano ham & manchego (from the extensive charcuterie and cheese menus). All delicious, but the fun really began with the tapas menu: pork belly croquettes that we light and porky with grainy mustard, wild mushroom risotto, buttered lobster with fennel shavings and beef tenderloin with bone marrow butter. Everything was perfectly prepared, beautifully presented and reasonably priced. For dessert, the banana churros with cinnamon and a rum caramel dipping sauce just about put me over the edge they were so light and tasty.
The decor is rustic with touches of fancy (check out the gorgeous vintage chandeliers) and the music is just loud enough. Would be good for a date, and very fun for a large group.
Hats off to this fine eatery. We will definitely go there again when we're back in TO.
