Ibasaw in Malden opened recently and I had high hopes for them since they offer an all you can eat Seafood and Dim Sum buffet for $15.95 at lunch. It's a big place and they share a parking lot with Stop & Shop so parking is not an issue. I went for the lunch buffet today I was pretty pleased. Some of the Dim Sum dishes was on the cold side but I was there before noon and I think it's better to go a bit later when they are busy and the dishes gets replenished more often. They did replace dishes even if they were not empty so they are trying to keep the food fresh. The Dim Sum was decent, I was excited about the pork spare ribs in black bean sauce and the beef meatballs. I skipped the tripe and the chicken feet but both looked good. There was a number of different shrimp dumpling as well as shumai and one of my favorites, taro with shrimp cakes. The clams in black bean sauce were seriously yummy and perfectly cooked and not gritty. Lot's of Sushi, mostly rolls but they had Salmon Nigiri with the rice at a correct temp and (I think) Snapper Sashimi and Mackerel Sashimi. Everything was clearly labeled, I just forgot to look. I was very happy with my lunch and will be back.
