Hu's Szechwan

DeLobster | Jan 15, 2008 09:41 AM

Finally made it to Hu's at the corner of National and National where it makes that insane 90 degree turn and cars traveling west have to stop, but cars traveling east take the turn like its the fucking autobahn. Anyways...as many of you predicted, Hu's is very tasty Westside Chinese food. The portions are HUGE and very flavorful. We got the Szechwan shrimp which had prolly 40 shimp (a serious mound of shrimp) in a red sauce with a hint of wine. I was at first ambivalent to order it, but it really was good. We also ordered the Orange Pi Chicken and the Green Beans in shredded pork sauce. The beans were fresh and not overcooked, which i hate. The shredded pork sauce was mild and nice. The Orange Chicken sauce was good, but the chicken at the bottom of the dish were swimming in sauce that was a bit overpowering. The prices are very reasonable (the tab was $38 for 2), the atmosphere is quiet, mellow, and not pretentious. I will absolutely go back.
