Hungry Cat clam chowder

I made the mistake of filling up on a half dozen oysters and the hamachi salad before being swayed by the bartender to try the clam chowder. He swore it might just be the finest bowl of soup I have ever eaten. I will reserve that for a pumpkin soup I had in Paris on my honeymoon, BUT...this was a DEEELICIOUS bowl of chowder.

Filled with clams, some still in shell. Tender clams too, not chewy in the least. The broth is cream based, but not "creamy" or thickened. Just rich and seasoned perfectly. Of course it's made even richer by the addition of Nueske bacon.

For $10 you get a pretty large bowl. This might be my winter meal of choice this year...

I know folks have had some service/seating problems at Hungry Cat. It's difficult because it's such a small place. I arrived around 5:45 on a Tuesday and had no problem. I'm not sure how to work around the weekend rush, I'd rather sit at the bar on a calmer weekday evening and not stress.
