Hungry Burro in Monterey Park

I don't know how long this place has been around, but it is really fantastic. They are a small, 2-3 table place with a great salsa bar and a pretty extensive menu. Tacos, Sopes, Burritos, Chile Relleno, Quesadillas and Tostadas with a good variety of fillings: carnitas, asada, pollo, adobado, tongue, chorizo and chile verde. I was a little disappointed that there is no al pastor, but I was quickly mollified by the quiality of what I did get.

They make their own tortillas to order, and chips.

I had an asada taco and an adobado taco combo (rice&beans) -- they come with onion, cilantro and guacamole on top--there's a great salsa bar at the counter as well.

My asada taco was moist and nicely spiced; the adobado was slightly dry, but the onions and cilantro on top (as well as the salsa) helped out.

This place is great...I can't wait to get back and try one of their absolutely enormous burritos (they rival the Hollenbeck burrito from Manny's in size, definitely).
