When we lived in Chantilly, this was our favorite Chinese restaurant for "every day" Chinese food. After we moved near GMU, closer to better Chinese restaurants, we didn't go there often, but were still sorry that they closed. Well, now they've reopened, on the lower level, across from Vie de France.
They have big, big bowls of soup that seem to appeal to Chinese people, and we like them, too.
Last night I had a big bowl of the beef stew noodle soup, with the dark, richly flavored, aromatic broth full of star anise. Lots of stew beef (shin?) cooked until the connective tissue was gelatinous, noodles (your choice of style), spinach, scallion, snow peas, cabbage, topped with chopped pickled cabbage. If you are a fan of this soup, their version is very nice.
The boys - who are not adventurous eaters - really like their beef and green pepper dish, with black bean sauce. And I am a fan of the roast duck.
Not worth a special trip from far away, but decent suburban-American-Chinese food.
