For years in the late nineties, my family and I would celebrate almost all special occasions at Rubiconnot so much because of the wine list, actually, but because the food was always exemplary as well. Then about five years or so ago we had one of those almost comically horrible experiences there: made to wait by a distracted maitre d', ignored by the waitstaff, food that was downright poor, etc. Call us haughty and oversensitive, but we haven't been back since. And yet I think back fondly to those earlier meals, and find myself wondering if this Brioza guy who's cooking there now has restored it to its former glory. Any comments would be appreciated.
