how's this for a great chow weekend?

Friday Lunch: good grub at Juan's in Berkeley -- some may argue about it's authenticity, but I still love the taste -- esp. their thick chips and red salsa.

Friday Dinner: another tasty meal at JangTu on Telegraph -- even though I was a pig when eating the panchan so I had to take half my entree home (now Sunday dinner). I talked to the owner a little more this time, and told him about some positive feedback that's been posted on this board. I think they could use the business, so head to 3838 Telegraph as soon as possible!

Saturday Lunch: Banh Mi at Saigon Sandwich. UMMMMMM! I had the roast and steamed pork combo, and now understand what all the $16 cab rides to get a $2 sandwich are all about!

Saturday Dinner: 5 wonderful courses at Gary Danko. Great food and great service accompanied by some fine champagne, and an '85 bordeaux that I had been saving for a special occasion.

Saturday was truly a day of contrast -- from a $2.25 lunch to expensive dinner (a friend treated though). Both were incredible in their own right, and make me appreciate living in the Bay Area where I can spend such a happy stomach satisfying weekend.
