House of Pizza (breakfast) - Brattleboro, VT

I kept hearing about this place and how it was this secret great breakfast spot, so we tried it today and were really disappointed. I guess, in hindsight, I shouldn't be surprised that a pizza place has bad breakfasts, but we were so disappointed and didn't even finish our breakfasts because it was that bad.

One order of Eggs Benedict and one order of Eggs Florentine:

Instead of Canadian Bacon they used lunch meat ham. The Hollandaise was watery and tasteless. The spinach was completely unseasoned and the muffins had an odd grainy texture. The poached eggs were so undercooked that when we broke into them the whites weren't even opaque, but completely clear. When we pointed this out to the waitress, she just apologized and took the plates.

The home fries tasted odd as well, like a fishy aftertaste.

The good news is there are so many really great places for breakfast around here (Chelsea Royal, Putney Diner, Front Porch Cafe, Dots, Bellows Falls Diner) that there'll be no need to ever go back.
