Half-an-hour cookie recipe

For all those people out there who think that Christmas cookies are too time-consuming (or too sweet), this is one of my family's favorite recipes. From pulling the ingredients from the pantry to having a bowl of delicious cookies, the whole thing takes no more than 30 minutes. They taste WAY better than the list of ingredients would make you think.

1/2 lb butter, room temp (nuke it if necessary)
1/2 lb all-purpose flour, room temp
1/4 cup white wine

For finished cookies: confectioner's sugar (optionally scented with a vanilla pod)

Mix all ingredients at once, adding only enough wine for the mixture to form a soft, smooth, non-sticky dough. Roll out (dough is very elastic) and cut with a pastry wheel or pizza cutter into 1.5" or 2" long diamond or square shapes. Bake on an ungreased sheet in a 325 degree oven until pink around the edges. Roll in confectioners' sugar while still hot.
