Received a generous invitation to a well known and “sophisticated” SoCal steakhouse! The evening started well and the conversation was friendly, but the Onion Soup was served lukewarm! Determined to not complain, I ate every spoonful. But, the Sautéed mushrooms were less than fresh and if that was French butter, I would be shocked! At last, my medium-rare Ribeye had no sear and no sizzle! At $57 plus sides, I was embarrassed for our host. Fortunately, the wine was on point! I guess 1 out of 4 is pretty good...these days!
