Help a hound out!

I'll be showing my pescatarian brother around the city next weekend and first on his list was to get some seriously authentic Indian food. Since he is pescatarian I was looking into Southern Indian over Northern due to the larger focus on vegetarian fare. I've searched and searched but nothing has really jumped out at me. The meal will be a Saturday lunch, and pretty much anywhere in Manhattan is fair game (even Brooklyn if it's not too deep).

Originally I'd set my mind on Saravanaas but the most recent reviews have stated that the food has gone downhill and the service has been terrible. I've got all other meals set into stone, this is the only one I'm having trouble deciding on. I was determined to make the decision on my own, but this last round of searching gave me a pretty mean headache so I turn to you, my fellow chowhounds.

Thanks for any suggestions.

P.S. If you were wondering the rest of the weekend consists of stops at Blue Bottle Coffee Co., Barcade, Dirt Candy, Brandy Library, and Public for Sunday brunch. (that last one may change to Shopsin's since I just heard they recently reopened on Sundays!)

Thanks again.
